WHY SFISD?

Santa Fe ISD is committed to providing ALL students with the tools they need to succeed, starting with early childhood education.

Our youngest students are exposed to a diverse range of learning opportunities, including science and STEM labs, robotics, historical research, and literacy libraries, all designed to build reading and vocabulary skills. Our Secondary Advanced Academic Programs, Pre-AP courses, Dual credit, and AP courses, offer rigorous challenges that support learning at high levels, preparing students for post-secondary success. Santa Fe students consistently demonstrate excellence in academic competitions at both the state and local levels. Honors and enrichment programs provide additional opportunities for leadership roles in courses or organizations such as campus House Leaders, Student Council, CHAMPS, Safety Patrol, and Law Enforcement Explorers, allowing students to serve and grow as citizens and develop skills that enable them to make meaningful contributions to society throughout life.

SFISD integrates art, theatre, and music into the K-12 curriculum, providing opportunities for students to participate in high-quality arts instruction and activities.

Athletics is a cornerstone of promoting school pride, and our athletic programs excel beyond district-level play. We believe that a thriving athletic program cultivates a culture of success, allows students to engage at their optimal ability, and promotes self-esteem, self-discipline, self-confidence, and teamwork.

Our Career and Technical Education programs offer a wide range of courses to meet students' interests and prepare them for viable careers. Students can choose from courses such as floral design, culinary arts, architecture and construction, audio-visual technology, business, health science, agriculture, and more!

Santa Fe ISD implements Character Strong, a research-based Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum that plays a crucial role in a comprehensive bullying prevention strategy (Smith & Low, 2013) Studies conducted in elementary and secondary schools indicate that enhancing students' SEL competencies leads to a positive school culture and climate.

From the early years of education, students are encouraged to explore a variety of subjects and activities that foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. By integrating technology into the classroom and offering advanced academic programs, Santa Fe ISD prepares students for future success in higher education and beyond.

Overall, Santa Fe ISD is more than just a school district; it is a community that values diversity, excellence, and personal growth. By nurturing the whole student – academically, socially, and emotionally – the district plays a vital role in shaping the future leaders of tomorrow.
