Clinical Teachers

SFISD offers PAID clinical teaching positions to selected candidates. This program provides additional benefits to aid your clinical teaching experience and the start of your teaching career.
SFISD continues to accept, welcome, and support traditional, unpaid clinical teaching/internships as well.
Steps to Becoming a Santa Fe ISD Clinical Teacher
Please follow the steps below to ensure a smooth and efficient process:
1. Your university program director/supervisor must make direct contact with Chrissy Healy at Christine.Healy@sfisd.org to request your placement in our district. Please be sure that they include certification areas, dates, and times of placements.
2. Please submit your contact and university information HERE! University information is needed to ensure that the correct university partnerships are established.
You will receive communication from SFISD regarding your interest in completing your clinical teaching with the district.
Paid clinical teaching openings are limited and will be determined using a screening process determined by the district. Before applying, please be sure to have completed steps 1 and 2.
All Criminal History applications (fingerprinting) must be completed and approved before the start of any student teaching assignment.
3. Human Resources will work directly with Field Experience Supervisors in placing clinical teachers for the fall and spring semesters.
4. Once accepted, placement information will be emailed to the student teacher and institution/program.
Please contact our Human Resources office prior to your clinical teaching.
