BOARD HIGHLIGHTS

RECOGNITION

Coach Ryder recognized the team captains of the 2022 football team, Kyeler Thompson, Jackson Stroud, Jose Uresti, Anthony Arcidiacono, Stephen Garcia and Harrison Wainwright. These young men were nominated by their peers and that says a lot about their leadership and character and as a result, a successful season.

The District recognized our student, staff and substitute spotlights for the month of December. From Barnett Elementary, 2nd Grader, Nathalie Granda is our elementary spotlight student. From Santa Fe High School, 11th Grader Teagan Hughston is our secondary spotlight student. From Santa Fe Junior High, 8th grade teacher Alyssa Hovey is our spotlight staff member. From Kubacak Elementary, Margaret Dewey is our substitute spotlight. Congratulations to all. 

Santa Fe H.S. recognized CTE teachers Bubba Dunn, Ag and Olivia Hinojosa, Health Science.  They were honored at the Gulf Coast CTE Association Luncheon.  Mr. Dunn was awarded the CTE Experienced Teacher and Mrs. Hinojosa was awarded the CTE New Teacher of the Year.  She will move on to the State competition.

MONTHLY REPORTS

Mr. Atkins gave an update on the repairs to the ALC after the flooding that occurred during the Thanksgiving Break.  He also gave updates on other projects going on throughout the District.

Mr. McKinney gave an update on the transportation grant.

Approved the purchase of kitchen equipment for RJW Wollam Elementary and Santa Fe High School.

Approved the adoption of the 2023-2024 SFISD Academic Calendar.
