BOARD HIGHLIGHTS
RECOGNITIONS
The District recognized 4th grader Brynden Bakelar from RJW as the elementary spotlight student of the month and 6th grader Kade Cruse from Santa Fe Jr. High as the secondary spotlight student of the month. RJW, Math Interventionist, Christina Hale was recognized as the spotlight staff member of the month and Casey Lopez from Kubacak Elementary was the spotlight substitute of the month.
The District will celebrate the following proclamations during the month of February: Black History Month; Career & Technical Education Month; National School Counselor Week, February 7th-11th; and National FFA Week, February 19th-26th.
The High School FFA Officers recognized the Board members with a small token of appreciation for their continued support of their FFA chapter.
Employees of the month for January were: Jadah Micks, Barnett Elem.; Amy Davis, Kubacak Elem.; Charlsie Hall, RJW; Tabitha Powell, SFJH; Rona Pless, SFHS; Pamela Stanich, Transp.; Harold Seese, M&O; Cynthia Gagne, Custodial; Diana Clark, Nutrition Services,; Julia Vasquez, Admin.; Derek Franklin, Police Department
Santa Fe ISD joined other school districts across the state to honor the countless contributions of these locally elected advocates for public education. The theme for this year’s state recognition is “Rising Above”. The Board and their spouses were treated to a wonderful dinner provided by the high school’s Culinary Arts students. Students and staff from all campuses participated in making a video to show their appreciation of the Board. Several students passed out special baskets in appreciation to each Board member. Each spouse was awarded a certificate of appreciation along with a flower arrangement.

Chief Braun presented the annual Racial Profiling report.
Mrs. Welsh presented the annual SFTXEF Report for 2020.

Approved DEC (Local) as presented.
Approved the resolution for the AEAP (Antiterrorism and Emergency Assistance Program) grant.
Approved the 2020-2021 Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) as required by statute.
Approved the 2022-2023 Santa Fe ISD Academic Calendar Option B as recommended by DEIC.
Approved the partnership agreement with the City of Santa Fe and Santa Fe ISD in which the city splits fine revenues with the district on citations written by SFISD officers and filed in municipal court.
Approved the Police Retention Incentive proposal as presented.
Approved the cost to paint the field house, two concession stands, and the press box at the high school football field.
Approved the replacement of the canopy between Kubacak Elementary and the Kubacak Annex building.
Approved the replacement of the Junior High football field west end fencing.
Approved the purchase of Audio Enhancements District View console to be placed in the Santa Fe ISD Police Office.
Approved the purchase of student and teacher laptops.
Approved the purchase of the AV (Audio Visual) upgrade for the High School Cafetorium.
Approved the use of Cre8 and CMTA to provide engineering services and design specifications to add emergency generators to RJ Wollam Elementary School and the Junior High School.
