    BOARD HIGHLIGHTS

     

     

      

    RECOGNITIONS

    The District recognized our students, staff and substitute for the month of November.  From RJW, 1st grader, Mallory Parish is the elementary spotlight student. She is kind, courageous, respectful, collaborative and accountable student. She loves helping her teachers and classmates. From Santa Fe Jr. High, 8th grader, Gilbert Sanchez is our secondary spotlight student. He has an infectious personality and is kind to everyone. He consistently shows people through his actions that it is okay to be yourself.  From Kubacak Elementary, 5th grade teacher, D'Lisa Dyson is our spotlight staff member.  She has been a teacher in SFISD for 16 years.  She has the drive and determination to help every student in her classroom succeed.  From SFJH, Richard Summerville is our spotlight substitute.  He always goes above and beyond for the campus and students.

    INFORMATION ITEMS

    Mr. Atkins updated the Board on ongoing projects.  He also gave an update on the football field and track renovations.  These renovations are being funded through FEMA and insurance at no cost to the District.

    Mr. Sanchez updated the Board on the 1st Quarter Investment results.

    REGULAR AGENDA

    Approved the Resolution #2021 with 146 votes to be awarded to Matt Doyle for GCAD Board of Directors.

    Approved the TASB Update 118 as presented.

    Approved the financial audit report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021, as prepared and submitted by Mays & Associates, PLLC and have the annual financial statement submitted for publication.

    Approved the disposal of a 2016 Cargo Craft White 44 foot enclosed utility trailer.

    Approved the replacement of the elevator doors and jambs at the Santa Fe High School football stadium.

    Approved the installation of Wi-Fi on 46 District buses.

    Approved the purchase of a multi-use service truck. 

    Approved the purchase of the FEV Tutoring program.

    Approved the MOU with College of the Mainland for Collegiate High School for the 2021-2023 school years.

    Approved $134,946 to Galveston-Brazoria Cooperative for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide services for our students that are deaf and hard of hearing.
