    BOARD HIGHLIGHTS

     

     

    PUBLIC HEARING on the School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST Report)

    Mrs. Townsend reviewed the FIRST report for the Board; there were no questions from the audience. 

     

    RECOGNITIONS 

    The District recognized our student, staff and substitute spotlights for the month of October.  From Kubacak, 5th grader James Bell is the elementary spotlight student.  He is caring, responsible and funny.  He has a purple belt in karate and is always kind to everyone.  From Santa Fe High School, 10th grader Payton Carroll is our secondary spotlight student.  Payton is positive and happy all the time.  She supports and praises her peers daily.  From SFJH, Assistant Principal Kristin Lawrence is the spotlight staff member.  Mrs. Lawrence is a SFHS graduate and her children attend SFISD.  She has built many meaningful relationships with students, parents and community members.  From RJW, Deborah Vawter is the substitute spotlight.  She is always willing to help out wherever she is needed.  She shows up when the campus is in a bind and is always open to change. 

    Proclamations for the month of November are: National School Psychology Week, November 8-12; National Education Support Professionals Day, November 17; and National Parental Involvement Day, November 18th.

    INFORMATION ITEMS

    Coach Bentley gave an update on the Athletic Department.  Mr. Atkins gave an update on projects.  Mrs. Townsend updated the Board on the General Fund, Fund Balance.

    Mrs. Townsend introduced Jason Bailey, Tax Attorney for the District.  He gave an update on the status of current tax collections for the District and how the process works.

    Mr. Davenport reported that Patrick Kelly, James Grassmuck, Clay Hertenberger, Rusty Norman, Eric Davenport and Matt Crable exceeded their required hours. Angie Lambert completed the required training hours.  Later, it was discovered that Ms. Lambert had also exceeded her hours.

    Approved the 2021-2022 SFISD District Improvement Plan and all SFISD Campus Improvement Plans.

    Approved the revised 2021-2022 District Code of Conduct.

    Approved the 7th grade Reading Instrument Waiver as required by TEA.

    Approved the Microsoft Licensing Agreement for the 21-22 school year 

    Approved the annual Hunton HVAC services agreement 

    Approved the acceptance of the donation that is greater than $5,000.00 received.
