BOARD HIGHLIGHTS
RECOGNITIONS
Santa Fe J.H. recognized 7th grader, Colton Payne as he tested nationally against juniors and seniors on the ACT, scoring a composite score of 99.9% for both State of Texas and Nationally. He also took the Duke University Talented Identification Program Test and was awarded a State of Texas recognition and Grand recognition for his test results!
SFJH also recognized their Robotics Teams as they are going to the World Championship after competing well at the Regional Tournament on March 27th. They are coached by Ms. Kayla Platt.
Santa Fe H.S. recognized the Tribal Belles for their participation in virtual dance competitions and bringing home many awards.
The District recognized student and staff spotlights for the month of April. From Barnett Elementary, 2nd grader Max Crable for showing kindness and compassion to another student. From SFHS, 9th grader Lorenzo Lerma Hernandez for helping other Spanish speaking students with their work. From RJW Elementary, 4th grade teacher Tracy Kubicki for her dedication to student success. She has written a grant for a greenhouse to be put in at RJW.

INFORMATION ITEMS
Mr. Atkins updated the Board on ongoing projects throughout the District including the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Fine Arts Wing at the high school.
Mrs. Bowers presented the annual YUM Nutrition Services report.

Approved the IMA and TEKS Certification form for the 2021-2022 school year.
Approved the resolution proclaiming May 2-8, 2021 as Teacher Appreciation Week in Santa Fe ISD.
Approved the resolution proclaiming May 7, 2021 as National School Lunch Hero Day in Santa Fe ISD.
Approved that all flags in the District be flown at half-staff on May 15, 2021 in honor of fallen officers and families, and proclaim the week of May 9-15, 2021 as National Police Week in Santa Fe ISD.
Approved the resolution proclaiming May 12, 2021 as National School Nurse Day in Santa Fe ISD.
Made a motion to table the Procurement of Electrical Services until the May 17, 2021 Board meeting.
