BOARD HIGHLIGHTS
**Important information:
SFTXEF Annual Gala's date was changed to April 6, 2021 due to extensive property damage incurred by the community during the winter storm the week of February 15, 2021.
The District received the proclamation for Texas Public Schools week during the winter storm school closure and therefore, we were not able to include it on the agenda. SFISD will celebrate Texas Public Schools Week March 1-5, 2021.
RECOGNITIONS
Santa Fe HS recognized Freshman Nathan Williams and Junior Seth Jacobs for their success at the SFHS Quad Track Meet. Nathan tied the District record in pole vaulting with a vault of 13’6”. The record was held by Class of 2019 graduate, Jack Mann and current Board member, James Grassmuck. Seth set a new record of 14’. Both young men will compete at the State meet in May. Their coach is Philip Miller.
The District recognized their student and staff spotlights for the month of February. They are students Elizabeth Tovar, RJW 3rd grade, Jai Gillard, 12th grade. Trinity Danielson, Science teacher at SFHS
Employees of the month for February are Brandy Evans, Barnett; Lena Castro, Kubacak; Kelly Temple, RJW; Elizabeth Davis, SFJH; Monica May, SFHS; Shell Foster, Transportation; Julius Medina, Maintenance; Mayra Tovar, Custodial; Robin Lackey, Nutrition Services; Brandy Meade, Admin.
The District would also like to recognize principal’s Destini Martin and Rachel Harris for being featured as contributing authors in the release of Learning Forward’s new book The Learning Principal: Becoming a Leader.
INFORMATION ITEMS
Mr. Atkins gave a project update on the H.S. renovations and addition as well as an update on the impacts from the winter storm.
Mr. Sanchez introduced Sarah Pfluger as the Accountant for the District. Mrs. Pfluger provided the Board with a depository contract bid update.

Approved the resolution proclaiming March 1-5, 2021, as Educational Diagnosticians week in Santa Fe ISD.
Approved the resolution proclaiming March 8-12, 2021 as National School Breakfast week in Santa Fe ISD.
Approved the purchase of K-5 classroom below level library.
Approved the implementation of the innovative course titled "General Employability Skills" at SFJH for 2021-2022.
Approved the waiver for hybrid instruction for grades 9-12 on state testing days.
Approved the property casualty insurance for 2021-2022.
Approved the renewal of general liability auto insurance.
Approved the investment policy resolution including names of brokers and investment options.

Approved Zonar annual service fee for transportation department.
