The District 24-AAAA Co-Champion SFHS Indians defeated Houston Davis 4-1 in the Area round of the UIL playoffs (Bracket) Friday night (See Story). The Indians next opponent will be District 24-AAAA rival Friendswood Mustangs in the Region III-4A Quarterfinals in a "Best of 3 Series". GAME TIMES: Game 1 (Thursday, 5/17 @ 7pm), Game 2 (Friday, 5/18 @ 7pm) & Game 3 (if necessary, Saturday, 5/19 @ 2pm). All games will be played at Pearland High School (Directions). SFHS Senior D.J. Sweeney recently signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Thunder of Trine University in Angola, IN. D.J. is joined by family members Andrea Cruz, Daviann Sweeney, Donna Williams & Dustin Sweeney. D.J. joins former Indian teammate Louis Danesi in Angola. Good luck D.J.!!!

Robert Kennedy of Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe has been selected to travel to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, this summer to participate in a one-week summer internship as part of Texas Aerospace Scholars program. The weeklong experience at Johnson includes a tour of NASA facilities and briefings by noted agency employees, including astronauts. The students will conclude their experience at a closing event to parents, members of the Texas Legislature, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Rotary NASA, and Johnson's senior management.
