SURVEY:  Please complete the attached survey for our campus. It is important to get your input so we can continue to improve and provide the best education possible for your child.  Please return by February 10, 2010.  

DISCIPLINE: Our students overall are doing an outstanding job with their behavior.  Our office referrals are down from last year.  They continue to work to earn tokens and receive those rewards.  Thanks to your support and encouragement we have been able to reach this accomplishment

PARENT CONNECT: Please continue to monitor your student's grades through Parent Connect. If you have concerns or questions, please contact your teacher through email or schedule a conference.

ATTENDANCE:  It is important your child is here and on time each and every day. Please remember to send a note with your child if he/she is absent from school. 

HOMEWORK :  Please make sure your child is completing his/her homework. These assignments reinforce what they are learning during the day. It is also important for your child to read every night.

COUNSELOR WEEK: (2/1-2/5): We will recognize or counselor, Teresa Fatheree for all she does for our students and school.

WRITING BENCHMARK: Our 4^th graders took a practice writing test in January and did a great job on it. Last year, the 4^th graders score 86.7% so we were trying to beat their score and we just missed it. Our students scored 82.9% which we celebrated their success and hard work.

MAGAZINE FUNDRAISER: Our counselor and librarian have organized a magazine fundraiser which provides extra funds for the end of year carnival, TAKS incentives, and other extra activities we have planned for our students. More information to come

STUDENT HOLIDAY:  Monday, February 15th is a student holiday so staff can attend staff development sessions.    

CHARACTER EDUCATION:  Our word for the month is COURAGE.  Courage is identifying the things that frighten or challenge us and facing them with confidence and bravery. Our word last month was RESPECT . Respect is valuing yourself/being proud of who you are, valuing others, valuing the world around you.

TUTORIALS:  Our morning tutorials continue to be held on Tuesday and Thursday at 8:00.
