How does PTO of Santa Fe raise money for the schools?
A
PTO has an annual School Supply sale in July or August, a Membership drive the first 2 weeks of school and Fall Fund Raiser in September. We also hold several Dinner With PTO Nights.
The money raised by PTO is divided by the total number of students enrolled in the 4 campuses. Once a per child dollar amount is determined, each campus receives funds based on their enrollment number.
The Super Scholar program is a reward program. PTO collects names of students in grades 1st through 6th that have received all A's on their report card for the first 3 nine week grading periods. A list of books are given to PTO by the school librarian and PTO purchases the books and lets the child choose which book they would like to have donated in their honor. A book label with the child's name, grade and accomplishment is placed inside the book and the child receives an Award Certificate from PTO. This program is always a big hit with the children and the schools. It not only enriches the school library for every child but it also gives each child that participates a sense of pride by being honored for their academic excellence.
